The solar eclipse of August 21, 2017. It was visible across the entire contiguous United States, passing from the Pacific to the Atlantic coasts, Oregon to South Carolina. Excited at the opportunity to witness this rare event, I flew to Myrtle Beach, and then drove to south to Georgetown, SC in order to catch one minute and 48 seconds of totality. I ultimately landed in a Walmart parking lot where an unobstructed view was granted for most of the event. And while not the most picturesque, it was irrelevant during that short time of the sun being eclipsed by the moon.
